School-based mental health
Overview
St. Anthony-New Brighton Schools partners with Northeast Youth and Family Services (NYFS) to have school-linked mental health services in all of our buildings. Having school-linked mental health services in our schools provides a way for students and families to access mental health services without having to leave school. By offering services within a school-based setting, NYFS therapists can also work with teachers and other support professionals to coordinate a high level of care for the student.
Services provided include diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, family therapy, psychiatry, support groups, trainings and presentations and academic support via the student’s school support team. If payment for therapy is a challenge, there may be funding opportunities available to help out with receiving school-based mental health support.
