This letter provides families with a lot of information to plan and prepare for graduation.

We are at an exciting time for our seniors as we begin to prepare them for Graduation on Wednesday, June 5th, at 7 p.m. at Dennison Field here on the SAVHS campus. As you can imagine, there is a lot of work and planning that will take place over the next few months by both the school and families. Please read this letter carefully, as it provides you with a lot of information you and your student can use to plan and prepare for graduation.

  • Seniors who are in need of credits may earn credit through our Alternative Leaming Program (ALP). Students will need to have make-up credits completed and submitted to their counselors, Ms. Berndt (Last Name N-Z) or Ms. Edwards (Last Name A-M) by May 31at 3:00 p.m. If, for some reason, a student has an incomplete transcript, for example, PSEO credits not completed, they will only receive a copy of their diploma when their counselor receives the results from the other school. Please contact the counseling office with any questions at 612- 706-1104.
  • The 2024 Scholarship Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, June 3, at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Students receiving awards will be notified by the week of May 20th. In the past, over 100 students have applied for local scholarships. All friends and relatives are welcome as we award nearly $40,000 of local scholarships to approximately 50 of our students. Additional awards and recognitions will also be presented.
  • Graduation caps and gown measurements have been taken and ordered. Please note that the school covers the cost of the cap, gown, and school tassel. If your child qualifies for an honors tassel and/or honor cord, you will be informed of the cost and details of purchasing these tassels/cords as we get closer to graduation. Please note that the honors of Valedictorian, Salutatorian, Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude, are based on the cumulative GPA after the I semester. Details outlining credit requirements and honors information are here and posted on the 2024 Google Classroom.
  • Customized Graduation Yard Signs: Since 2020, yard signs with each senior's picture have lined 33rd Ave. the week leading up to graduation. This year, the price of signs has increased to $14 and families, who would like a yard sign, must pay the expense. The $14 payment in cash or check, and any additional donations if you're willing/able to contribute to help with the cost for other students, must be submitted to Rory Donovan in the main office by May 10.
  • Tickets to Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, June 5, 2024: Each graduate will be given eight tickets for graduation – five blue tickets to sit in the home section of the stadium and three white tickets to sit in the visiting section. (The indoor/rain backup plan will be similar with five seats in the gym and three in the overflow viewing in the auditorium.)

In order to plan for the graduation ceremony, please submit your Ticket and Yard sign request here. This Google Form will ask for how many tickets you will need. This will allow us to hold a lottery for extra tickets if a larger family needs more than eight. All requests must be submitted by May 10, 2024.

The school is not responsible for planning the Senior Night Party. Information for that will be coming soon on announcements and social media through parent volunteers.

The last day for seniors is Friday, May 31, 2024. More details about rehearsal and other end-of-year schedules will be announced soon.

Sincerely,

Norman Bell
St. Anthony Village High School Principal
